Then a Lithuanian Erasmus student, Natalija (which is my brother's girlfriend since 2013) changes our opinion about this beautiful country. My brother came to Lithuania also with Erasmus, then he found a job in Kaunas after graduation. Thanks to him, I found a good job advertisement in a worldwide company in Kaunas.
Then I had to find a house, but it was very hard to communicate with local housekeepers and they didn't want to rent their house to a foreigner. Thanks to homerental.lt; I found a very good house in a normal price. Even though my houselord doesn't know English, they make each other communicate very well. I strongly suggest all foreigners to work with homerental.lt.

When I started to apply in Continental Lithuania, I was curious where the country is located. This is the first time I have heard of your country. I have Googled the country and I found great information. You have a well-preserved culture, a magnificent churches which are also like in the Philippines. The landscapes are great but the weather is very challenging to us since we do not experience winter nor spring in my country. The most exciting of them all is, you really like basketball as a national sport. During my travel going to Lithuania, it was a very hard adjusting to the hours of flight. The Flight was 24hrs but I managed to survive with just a headache. The weather was nice here and the sun was not very hot compare to my country. The people were very accommodating, I talked to one person, she didn’t speak English, but she helped me look for someone who can understand. It was a nice experience, majority of the younger aged in Lithuania speak English. My taxi driver even helped me locate my hotel and it was superb. On my 5th day, I was in contact with Ms. Egle of homerental.lt. I needed her help in my finding my permanent residence here in Kaunas which I will be living and working. It was not easy finding an apartment, but Ms. Egle was very accommodating and vigorous on her search and gave me a nice apartment that is close to the city and within my budget. She eventually found one and in a couple of days I was already living there. My landlord, Mr. Saulius was very nice and approachable. This was not going to be easy without the help of Ms. Egle, she is excellent. It was great travelling with her looking for an apartment. She is very nice to talk with, a jolly and very helpful person. I would recommend her to all my colleagues in case they would be needing her services. Living in Kaunas, Lithuania is the best experience. The people, weather and the food is great.

My wife is currently pregnant with our first baby. We will start living and raising our baby in Kaunas, as I got the permanent job here. I was hired by Continental Automotive Lithuania UAB. I was previously working with the same company on one of its factories in the Philippines. I will be working here with allot of Lithuanian engineers and I am very excited. I am an Electronics Engineer and handle testing of electronics and sensors being built in cars.
It was a major decision for me and my wife to work and relocate in a country not really known to us. At first we knew Lithuania only for the basketball, as we saw those fantastic players in international games and leagues. Then we searched for more information on internet and also talked to some colleagues, who have already been to Lithuania, we were convinced to go to this country. We also learned that the people are friendly and the country is very rich in culture. Also, being a part of EU, we were assured that living here will be very positive for us and our child. My wife was not pregnant yet when we have decided to come. My wife was very excited when I first told her I was being offered a job in Lithuania, when she learned it is in Europe. She kept asking about it every day since then. When we have arrived, less than 3 weeks ago, Lithuania did not disappoint us. The weather was perfect, the buildings were like those we have seen on TV and people are very nice. We remember a lady, not so old, offered us a drink, when we were waiting for the key of our apartment. Our real estate agent from Homerental.lt and the owner of the apartment, which we are staying now, are as kind and generous as well. Our biggest fears and worries when you start living here: Acceptance – we fear Lithuanian people will be afraid to be acquainted with us. Language – we fear we will not be understood. We were worried how to find an apartment/where to live, but it is solved now. We are worried of what will be our future.

Also, based on my experience many Landlords don’t speak English, so additional to translate us, the agent support us to reach a better negotiation, a better price… very important also to say that we also received a formal contract and the best part was that we met a very nice and polite lady Egle, who is still supporting us with many Kaunas subjects...
So, definitely this history would be different if I would have decided to search this accommodation by my own.
